Finally got a chance to pick up Jack White’s Lazaretto today. (Weirdly I could not find it at the store I usually go to for new releases or some other places I checked - I finally spotted it in a tiny tiny record store in the village that could only fit about 2 people in it.) Anyway, I am still working on figuring out how to play the hidden tracks - I did find the hologram though - but it’s awesome even without the special features.

One funny thing I noticed is that in the liner notes, Jack White, always full of quirks, thanked a LOT of people, some of them directly related to the album, and some of them, I’m sure, sources of inspiration.

Here’s a few people/things he included in his thank you’s that “helped make this record exist”: Scarlett (his ex-wife I’m pretty sure), ghosts “not those kinds”, three different Johnnie Walkers -two people and one the drink, Meg White, computers AND the internet (so un-Jack White), “bricks, unforeseen enemies, plaster, manufactured enemies, wood,” the Library of Congress, oil-based paint, 70s films, 80s films, the Scientific American and National Geographic, front porch swing… The list goes on and if you’re as much of a fan as I am you may want to check it out for yourself.
